Terms of Service

Last updated: 6 September 2026

1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using the AnswerMetrix platform, website, web application, API or any associated services (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

These Terms form a binding legal agreement between you (or the organisation you represent, "you") and AnswerMetrix ("we", "us", "our"). If you are accepting these Terms on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation.

2. Description of the Service

AnswerMetrix is an AI-powered software-as-a-service platform that analyzes websites for SEO and AI visibility gaps, generates recommended fixes, and provides tools to review and deploy those fixes through supported embed, edge or native delivery routes. The Service includes:

  • Automated website scanning and GEO readiness scoring
  • AI-assisted generation of schema markup, meta descriptions and structured data
  • Autopilot, Managed and Expert workflows with eligibility checks, permissions and review controls
  • AI visibility tracking and reporting across major AI answer engines
  • Integration with website platforms and CMS systems

We reserve the right to modify, suspend or discontinue any part of the Service at any time with reasonable notice.

3. Accounts and registration

To use the Service you must create an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate, complete and current registration information
  • Maintain the security of your account credentials
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account
  • Accept responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. Accounts may not be shared or transferred without our written consent.

4. Subscriptions and billing

Access to certain features of the Service requires a paid subscription. Paid plans are provisioned by our team. We confirm the subscription details with you before any payment is taken. Once a paid subscription is confirmed, you authorise us (or our payment processor) to charge your payment method on a recurring basis at the applicable subscription rate.

Annual prices are monthly equivalents; the full annual amount is charged at the start of the billing year.

Subscription fees are non-refundable except as required by applicable law or as expressly stated in these Terms. We reserve the right to change subscription pricing with 30 days' notice. Continued use of the Service after a price change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the new pricing.

If a payment fails, we may suspend your account until the outstanding amount is settled. Accounts that remain unpaid after a reasonable period may be terminated.

5. User approval and responsibility

Every fix, suggestion, schema, meta description or other content generated by the Service is a recommendation only. Delivery requires your authorisation, which may include enabling automatic delivery for eligible fix types rather than approving each fix separately.

When you approve an individual change or batch, you confirm that you have:

  • Reviewed the generated content in full
  • Satisfied yourself that it is accurate, appropriate and compliant with all applicable laws and industry regulations
  • Accepted full responsibility for its publication to your website

AnswerMetrix's liability for any approved change ceases at the point of your approval. You must not individually approve content you have not personally reviewed. If you are approving content on behalf of a client or employer, you confirm that you have authority to do so and that they accept these Terms.

Autopilot, Managed and Expert do not expand your granted permissions or plan allowances. When you enable automatic delivery, review the eligible categories and monitor the recorded results.

6. AI-generated content

The Service uses artificial intelligence to generate content suggestions including meta descriptions, schema markup, structured data, introductory copy and other on-page elements. You acknowledge and agree that:

  • AI-generated content is a starting point, not a finished product. It may contain inaccuracies, omissions, outdated information or errors.
  • You are solely responsible for reviewing all generated content for factual accuracy before approving it.
  • You are solely responsible for ensuring generated content complies with any regulations applicable to your industry, including but not limited to regulations governing healthcare, financial services, legal services, pharmaceuticals and food.
  • AnswerMetrix makes no warranty that AI-generated content is accurate, complete or suitable for your particular website or business.

We may select different AI models or providers for different tasks and may change that selection based on task suitability, quality, privacy and availability. Access to any particular model or provider is not guaranteed. Unless an output is expressly labelled as a provider-specific measurement, generated content is not represented as a response from any particular external AI engine.

Where generated content draws on information from your website brief, account settings or publicly accessible website pages, it is your responsibility to ensure that source information is accurate and up to date.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Violate any applicable law, regulation or third-party rights
  • Scan or process websites you do not own or have explicit permission to analyze
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems or other users' accounts
  • Reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble any part of the Service
  • Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to access the Service outside of our official API
  • Transmit malware, spam or any harmful content through the Service
  • Resell or sublicense the Service without our written permission
  • Use the Service for any purpose that is fraudulent or deceptive

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these provisions without notice or refund.

8. Your content and data

You retain ownership of the website data, content and materials you submit to the Service ("Your Content"). By using the Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to process Your Content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.

You represent and warrant that you have all necessary rights to submit Your Content and that it does not violate any third-party rights or applicable law.

We do not claim ownership of the fixes, schemas or metadata generated by the Service based on Your Content. Those outputs are yours once approved and deployed.

9. Intellectual property

The Service, including all software, algorithms, interfaces, documentation and branding, is owned by AnswerMetrix and protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our intellectual property except the limited right to use the Service as described herein.

The "AnswerMetrix" name and logo are our trademarks. You may not use them without our prior written consent.

10. Third-party services and integrations

The Service may integrate with or link to third-party platforms (such as Webflow, WordPress, Shopify, Google Search Console, Cloudflare and others). Your use of those platforms is governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the availability, practices or content of third-party services.

When you connect a third-party integration through the Service, you authorise AnswerMetrix to interact with that platform on your behalf using the access credentials you provide. You remain responsible for maintaining appropriate permissions and for any actions taken through those credentials.

11. Search and AI engine disclaimer

Search engine rankings and AI engine citation behavior are determined by independent third parties — including Google, OpenAI, Perplexity, Microsoft, Anthropic and others — whose algorithms change continuously and without notice.

  • AnswerMetrix makes no representation or guarantee that use of the Service will result in any specific improvement in search rankings, AI citation rates, traffic or any other measurable outcome.
  • Improvements observed after using the Service may not persist if third-party algorithms change.
  • AnswerMetrix is not liable for any reduction in rankings, visibility or traffic that occurs after fixes have been deployed, whether caused by algorithm changes, competitor activity or any other factor outside our control.

AI visibility scores and reports produced by the Service reflect the state of third-party AI engine behavior at the time of measurement and should be treated as indicative, not guaranteed benchmarks. When a report identifies a specific AI provider as the measured source, the measurement request is sent to that provider rather than substituted with a generic generation model.

12. Force majeure

AnswerMetrix is not liable for any failure or delay in performing its obligations where that failure or delay results from events outside its reasonable control, including but not limited to: outages or policy changes by third-party services (including Webflow, Cloudflare, Google, OpenAI, Perplexity and others); internet or telecommunications failures; actions of government or regulatory authorities; natural disasters; pandemics; or industrial action.

Where such an event occurs, we will make reasonable efforts to resume normal operation as soon as practicable.

13. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free or completely secure. We do not warrant that AI-generated content will be accurate, complete or suitable for any particular purpose. We do not warrant that any specific SEO or AI visibility outcome will result from use of the Service.

14. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, AnswerMetrix AND ITS DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES AND CONTRACTORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE — INCLUDING DAMAGES ARISING FROM CONTENT YOU APPROVED AND DEPLOYED THROUGH THE SERVICE.

OUR TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNTS PAID BY YOU TO US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

15. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless AnswerMetrix and its affiliates, directors, employees and contractors from any claims, damages, liabilities, costs and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:

  • (a) your use of the Service
  • (b) Your Content
  • (c) your violation of these Terms
  • (d) your violation of any third-party rights
  • (e) any content you reviewed, approved and deployed through the Service, including claims that such content is inaccurate, misleading or in breach of any law or regulation

16. Termination

You may cancel your paid subscription at any time through account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You may cancel your account at any time through the account settings. We may suspend or terminate your account at our discretion with or without notice for violation of these Terms, non-payment, or any other reason we deem necessary to protect the Service or other users.

On termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Embed-delivered changes depend on the script and its service remaining available. Native CMS or edge changes may persist until separately reversed. Do not assume every change will remain active after termination; review the applicable delivery and rollback route. We may retain your account data for a period after termination in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

17. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation between the parties.

If a dispute is not resolved within 30 days of written notice from either party, it may be referred to the courts of the Western Cape, South Africa, which shall have jurisdiction, unless both parties agree to an alternative dispute resolution mechanism.

18. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will provide at least 14 days' notice of material changes via email or in-app notification. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. The current version will always be available at answermetrix.com/terms.
